I suppose I could create six identities and log in every day to inflate the numbers, but I'm too lazy.
Actually 212 guests in a day is a lot more than I would have guessed. How to convince some to join and contribute? It's anonymous and free! But then, I'm not a salesman. I can't even sell a door knob.

I've just changed my posting signature into a recruitment statement I don't know what we can do. I login every day and I try to make a minimum of 5 post each time, just to generate new content. If other members post stuff that I can respond to I do but there simply aren't enough active members generating new things to respond to. It's not just this forum, I seen it on other forums too and the rate of decline seems to be accelerating, but then I suppose that's inevitable... less new posts = less visitors = less potential new members = less new posts.

i adore this forum with all of my heart, but there also just comes a point when there's not much to talk about anymore! i mean, we've been sustained on the wrong answer game and favorite rascals photos for how long now?

i adore this forum with all of my heart, but there also just comes a point when there's not much to talk about anymore! i mean, we've been sustained on the wrong answer game and favorite rascals photos for how long now? Then start some new threads. I'm one of the most recent active members here. As well as posting on as many threads as I can I've also started 29 new threads. Some of them have petered out through lack of activity but some, such as the Anagram Game thread are currently among the most active threads on this forum. This forum will eventual die, that's inevitable. However we can either roll over and accept it or try to stave it off for as long as possible. If you "adore the forum with all your heart," prove it by helping to keep the place active, perhaps by making more than one post in the entire year.

Activity tends to prompt more activity, and more users to take part in it. New users have fresh perspectives on the Our Gang franchise, reinvigorating conversation on old topics. I'm not around all the time anymore, but I try to check in at least every six months.

I agree on the fact that many of the users have run out of topics. It's also possible that the Rascals are not as popular as they used to be. In fact, black-and-white programming is gradually disappearing from television, especially since the generation who grew up on such programming are deceased, or nearing death. That is probably why the Favorite Rascals photos and one other thread are tge only popular threads, but even they have had lack of activity lately.
I, myself, still love the Rascals, and always will. In fact, i will continue keeping an eye out for some more animated episodes. In the meantime, I have been involved in an animation project sincd August or September 2017. In fact, the Rascals cartoon had renewed my interest in retro cartoons, and had motivated me to take up a hobby in animation, but my animation project has nothing to do with the Rascals.
The way i see it, i can sense these boards closing down by the end of 2019. If it comes down to that, it was a wonderful ride and i hope we all made our mark to remember.

Just checking now it said there were 287 guests in the last 24 hours, so there is still interest and the Rascals' popularity hasn't gone away. If even five percent would register and contribute that would give the board a great boost, but to paraphrase a Yogi Berra quote, "If they don't want to register, you can't stop them."
I agree that it's hard to come up with new topics, and many of the existing ones are exhausted. I like trivia and quotes in general, but when too often a question comes along that no one knows and the thread is forgotten.
One problem is that there are few new developments. Restoration and distribution of old films is much appreciated, but there aren't any new episodes coming. One movie every twenty years is not very adequate. Since that isn't happening, I'd like to see more stories, preferably written by someone with a lot more talent than I. I've certainly tried, and found that writing the "Worst Episodes" came fairly naturally, but I ran out of ideas and they were starting to get too repetitive. Then there was my very long story, which grew from a desire to see a better ending for "Every Man For Himself." I felt that film started out promising, but then lost it's way as it went all over the place. Since the boys were training for boxing they should have been victorious in a big fight at the end. I had a goal of making references to 100 Our Gang films throughout that story, but no one ever picked up on that and overall it was an awful lot of effort for little reward. Curiously it appears that thread is still getting one or two views a day on average, so there is some satisfaction in that and I can believe I wrote something better than many of the MGM efforts.
Still, if it looks like the board is dying I'll probably try writing again, though nothing nearly so long. Maybe it will last long enough for Buppster or another enthusiastic fan to contribute.

Wasn't Eden Wood (2014 Darla) a child beauty queen? Not exactly would have made the cut for an actual Our Gang film in the day.

Do you guys think that some more uploads to my YouTube channel could bring some more activity to the board? After a long break, I've gone back to putting together edits of the silents with Leroy Shields soundtracks and making them as complete as I can, and the best quality I can get them to be. They may not be new material to everyone, but I think I can make them more enjoyable to watch. I've also gone back to previous edits and made some improvements. I've just finished a 27 minute long edit of Uncle Tom's Uncle. Since there's a lot of sound related gags in this short, I've decided to include some sound effects.

Do it.
I always considered myself an expert on the talkies, but you didn't get the silents, save for one with Laurel & Hardy, on Noo Yawk TV.
