Back up in this thread where you mentioned the renowned "Kid Kyle". I went to an oldies show back in 2006 or 2007, and shot this exclusive footage of Kid Kyle...
He was the next best thing to Frankie Lymon and other groups of the time. I think I have more home recorded footage of him (He was a local act).
More footage of him. He was the one who introduced me to the music of Frankie Lymon...sort of. I shot this footage...

So you actually recorded this in person? It must have been something to hear Kid Kyle live in concert! Did you get the chance to meet him?
This is one of his studio tracks that I really liked. The power in his voice is unmistakable during this number, particularly at the end.

Yes, I met Kyle and his manager Ronnie Italiano and Kyle's family at a series of oldies shows that featured him and other groups. I have all of his CD's autographed by him, as well as a DVD. I gave him some baseball cards...he's a big Yankees fan and I'm a big Red Sox fan, so we disagreed about that. He was just a regular kid with a great voice. I was in the front row for one show he did on New Years Eve.
Here's some more footage I shot of him in person, as the other videos were...
These are just what I have to post. I have entire shows by him on DVD as well exclusive stuff I bought at his shows. Kyle came from an amazing family. I talked to all of them, as well as Kyle himself.
Besides the shows themselves, some of the most vivid memories of Kyle are listening to him warm up his voice before shows. He had a voice that could stop a war. I heard him warming up that voice of his from a hallway in the theater once, and another time from a parking lot next to the theater where he was performing. His manager even sent me the original "Kid Kyle and his Kool Kats" banner that they would hang at his table after the group was no more.
BTW if you really wanted to piss Kyle off all you had to do was mention the song "School Bells" or the Red Sox, both of which he hated ;D

I dragged out my "Kid Kyle and his Kool Kats" banner that his manager sent me when I ordered some merchandise from him and took a picture of it. He had severed ties with Kyle and his family and no longer had any use for it. He also gave me a free T-shirt. They were very fan friendly and generous. This is the original banner that would be hanging on the wall in back of the table where Kyle would meet the fans and sign autographs after his shows.

As a Kid Kyle fan I know very well that he's smiling today because the Yankees beat the Red Sox. Here's a video I didn't film myself of him doing a doo-wop classic...
I'm So Young
I've seen him perform this song live and he really pours his heart and soul into it.

The Yankees may have won the game, but the Red Sox are in much better position to win the season!
You have quite a collection of Kid Kyle memorabilia, it would seem! I'll bet hearing him live would have been quite an experience. I wonder what sort of trajectory his singing career might have taken had he been active on the music scene fifty years earlier. In the heart of doo-wop's popularity, Kid Kyle surely would have been unsurpassed for vocal power. He had the skills to have become a superstar.
I was surprised you hadn't heard of Troye Sivan, and I think I would be equally surprised if you haven't heard of this prodigious Irish performer.
There used to be a magnificent studio recording on Youtube of Declan Galbraith singing Tell Me Why (which is also one of Troye Sivan's most well-known songs), but it has been pulled for copyright reasons. The vocal arrangement for this performance of Danny Boy is a highly demanding one, but Declan Galbraith clears the bar with room to spare, as he usually does.

Actually Declan Galbraith is English, he was born in Kent. He just has an Irish sounding name. Gerald Ahern however is Irish...

Many people have assumed that Declan was Irish because of his name and also the choice of songs which he recorded on his debut album. When he debut album was released in Ireland many people here thought that he was Irish too and he became pretty popular. The inclusion of several Irish traditional songs on his first album was made because they were songs he'd been taught by his grandfather. He'd spent part of his childhood singing those same songs while busking and later performed them in various competitions around his home town in Kent. He made a promotional visit to Belfast when he was 10 to publicize his first album and while he was there he recorded his debut single Tell Me Why. He spent a great deal of his teenage years in Germany, after signing a deal with a new record label, and appeared regularly on German TV and in German magazines. He's now based in England again. Declan has an odd way of pronouncing certain words but that is simply an individual quirk that he has, his accent is a Kent one. He has both Irish and Scottish grandparents.

Jaren Binks is USA born and bred, he's also very talented... What sets his playing apart from that of many others is how bodily involved he is in creating the music. It adds layers of sensitivity to the sound emanating from his keyboard, layers one might not even think about were Jaren Binks not expressing them so vividly.

Here is the original music video to Declan's Tell Me Why single Maybe it's because I'm from the United States, but EMI blocks me from watching this. The message says "This video contains copyright from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Yes, that one works. Thanks.
In looking for a playable version of Declan Galbraith's Tell Me Why earlier today, I came upon this performance of the song Carrickfergus, which somehow I had never previously found. Declan Galbraith's rendition is astonishing.
