It'll probably depend on how popular the Gang is at that time. Possibly, the recent biopic of Laurel and Hardy will help revive interest. As for the 'Complete Silents' DVD Set, I am also dubious. Aside from the fact a few of them just don't exist anymore, simply assembling the compilation would probably be a nightmare. I'd never expect a complete silents collection, but at least something like what Laughsmith's set was supposed to be- around 32 shorts. I have the Harold Lloyd DVDs and blu-rays, and every time I watch them I wonder why can't the Our Gang silents get this kind of fantastic presentation?? I'm 90% done with my edits of the silent shorts to make my own collection. Been working on them since 2013. It saddens me that we can't get a nice restored set. The films only keep deteriorating over time. Big shout out to Robin Cook (rarefilms) for putting in the time and effort to make the shorts look so good. I hope we see more.

How time flies. I remember the 75th anniversary like it was just several years ago. I still have that TV commercial on tape somewhere advertising the Cabin Fever tapes. I remember wanting that Rare Original Silent Episodes tape that was only available through that commercial by calling the 800 number, and wasn’t sold in stores. I never did get a copy of it.
Suncoast Motion Picture Co, a video store of its time, celebrated big for the 75th. The one in San Antonio, TX had a whole display on its own wall with mostly Cabin Fever tapes among some others.

With the 100th anniversary just a few years away, do any of you think we could see anything happen in 2022? Some kind of comeback? At long last, a restored silent DVD/bluray collection maybe? Or at least a TCM marathon?
Or absolutely nothing at all?

I've already uploaded this short several years ago, but I have made improvements to it using some footage that has slightly better picture quality. The use of the Beau Hunks soundtrack has also been improved. This is one of the best silent Our Gang shorts, so I've worked at giving this the best presentation I can. youtu.be/TkY6onfAx5I

youtu.be/WkZHlOeRE6AHere’s Uncle Tom’s Uncle. I’ve combined a couple of sources to make it pretty much complete. There could be a small bit of footage still missing; maybe an inter title or two. This includes some sound effects throughout, as there are some sound related gags. Also used are piano versions of the Leroy Shields tunes, with a little bit of Beau Hunks. Hope you’ll enjoy.

I’ve uploaded my recent edit of July Days. Most of it is the TCM broadcast, which is the best quality I’ve seen of this short. I’m happy with how I used the Beau Hunks soundtrack here. Hope you’ll enjoy it! youtu.be/CpuPN_vlhVYUncle Tom’s Uncle will be uploaded in the next day or two.

Do you guys think that some more uploads to my YouTube channel could bring some more activity to the board? After a long break, I've gone back to putting together edits of the silents with Leroy Shields soundtracks and making them as complete as I can, and the best quality I can get them to be. They may not be new material to everyone, but I think I can make them more enjoyable to watch. I've also gone back to previous edits and made some improvements. I've just finished a 27 minute long edit of Uncle Tom's Uncle. Since there's a lot of sound related gags in this short, I've decided to include some sound effects.

I've got my DVD yesterday. The transfers look incredible! I didn't know Your Own Back Yard actually looked that good. Very good transfer of The Love Bug as well.
Well done, Robin!

Oh, you probably have and I missed it. Thank you for sharing that, and for "Ask Grandma", because that's a better looking version than the ones I have in my own collection.

There's a YouTuber, Matthew Lydick, that has a few nice edits on his channel. One of them is a new edit of the first film, Our Gang, with recently found footage at the end. This is worth a look if you haven't seen it already. It was posted earlier this year. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWu9eKd752A

I taped every one of them. It took five 6 hour tapes. However, they're in a box at my folk's home and I've since relocated to another state. I've only taken all DVDs and a few old VHS tapes of more sentimental value.

The MGM shorts are the Sharknado of the Our Gang series. They're so bad, they're fun to watch (in my opinion).
