I get "wheep-wow" from Birthday Blues as an answer most of the time, but I want to see if anyone mentions a different one.
The one that always made me laugh and still makes me laugh is Alfalfa's joints loosening and cracking in Glove Taps. I was just watching it last night and lmao'd at it.

I get a kick out of the gurgling vocal sounds used for Jiggs the Monkey in DIVOT DIGGERS. It's actually from the Charley Chase film ARABIAN TIGHTS made three years earlier. Second would be the tap sounds from Jackie Horner in CALLING ALL KIDS.

The "Birthday Blues," "Glove Taps" and "Divot Diggers" effects are all favorites of mine, so you guys beat me to it on those! Add the noisemaker in "Spooky Hooky," Chubby's voice in "Bouncing Babies," the effect used when Spanky punches Franklin Pangborn in "Wild Poses," and (at the risk of bringing the MGM era into this) Froggy's mating call to the warship in "Unexpected Riches."

I also love the balloon deflating sound in Divot Diggers, and the man's " " reaction to it is priceless!

This is a bit sinister.... ;D....but I love that *THWACK!!* sound that results from Spanky using a (hopefully rubber) hammer on the knuckles of that evil Headmaster in "Shrimps For A Day". And I think we hear those "tacks" hitting the floor too and seeing someone stepping on them really makes you cringe even though I expect they were made from rubber as well.

Also the sound the short order cook makes when he sees he's about to make out with "Cotton."

Mine was from "Birthday Blues", but not the cake - when Spanky at the hot sausage and made that warped "Wow!" noise - that always cracked me up!

My very favorite sound effect is in "SPANKY", when Dorothy coughs, and that hilarious sound made with the string and can each time she coughs!!!! The scenes where she goes to cough and that sound is heard, man, that has me hurting in pain from laughing so much and my eyes get all watery. These scenes with that sound just get my funny bone so much! I am sure there has to be others who also get a big laugh from that sound when she coughs!!!

Thanks for taking my suggestion for this topic from a previous thread, Mark. Aside from the obvious (see avatar to the left <--), the cherry-bombs from A Lad An' A Lamp thrown by the Cotton-Monkey are funny as h***. Actually, A Lad An' A Lamp is one of the funniest episodes ever in my opinion and a lot of the laughs comes from the sound effects: the aforementioned cherry-bombs, the "BWOOOW" sound that the sidewalk cafe worker makes when seeing the monkey instead of his girlfriend and then the cool noise when he runs into the mailbox ;D, the popcorn popping (and Spanky's reaction to it) ;D, the window breaking ;D, etc etc. It all adds up in that film.

Oh yeah, The Pooch when Spanky "spanks" the dog catcher with that gi-normous stick... twice! Hook And Ladder when Spanky blows into the talking/communication device and all the dust comes out (Veeeewwwwww!) The knocking noise from the roman candle that Spanky shoots at Bumbo in The Kid From Borneo

Spanky under the table with the hot sauce 'a-WOOOW!" Same effect was used in A Lad and a Lamp.

I frickin' love this topic!!! The Bronx-Cheer toy that Jackie Cooper blows to interrupt Chubby trying to serenade Miss Crabtree. "Oh Miss Crabtree ... BBBEEEEEHHHHH ..." (insert Chubby's frustrated reaction)

Spanky under the table with the hot sauce 'a-WOOOW!" Same effect was used in A Lad and a Lamp. Actually, that's the 2nd half of the "wheepwow" cake sound effect in "Birthday Blues". That said, my favorite sound (not really an effect) has to be the dub of Billy Gilbert's famous sneeze accompanied by a gust from the butler because of the bubbles during the bridge party in "Washee Ironee". That and the monkey's razzing on the golf course in "Divot Diggers" ALWAYS has me cracking up to tears when I watch them.

3 from Beginner's Luck come to mind.
1-The sound of the peas richocheting off of Spanky's shield. 2- The sound of Spanky's helmet slamming shut in his frustration.
3-The tearing riiiiipppp sound as Spanky's mother's dress is torn off of her by the rising curtain..

Oh man, I forgot about the pea-shooter sounds. Good call! Don't forget the loud THUMP, that Spanky's body makes when his mom knocked him off his feet with the stage hook-thing.
