I like Moe. His sudden bursts of bad temper make me laugh. Once he even threatened a screaming baby with the ever classic " I'll tear your tonsils out!" Not really funny to yell at little kids though. Think how he would have handled the Rascals.

The Rascals would have made mincemeat out of him. To me, the only Stooge that counts is Curly. Moe and Larry were merely basking in his reflected glory, and Shemp (and those two later posers) simply wasn't funny.

Well, I always go for the underdogs or the ones who are not properly recognized. Moe is my choice because I feel like people don't give him enough credit. He was truly the heart and soul of the group and even though his character was mean and demanding, he was sweet in real life, a real trouper. Curly is definitely funny, but he gets so much credit and reminds me of Spanky. Shemp is very funny at times and I like his weak, snivling image. Larry is also VERY funny if you take time out to pay attention to him. However, I don't like him personally since he was a womanizer even though he had a wife.

Moe is insane! I love him! I never heard Larry was a womanzer. I thought they were all low key for Hollywood. I thought Curly was the womanizer. The Stooge "Biography" says he had like three or four wives. At different times.

Yes he did, but Larry was married but continued to have affairs.

I think I read that in the book The Three Stooges : An Illustrated History, From Amalgamated Morons to American Icons by Michael Fleming. It is a pretty good read if you're interested, and it has the whole filmography and commentary on each short.

Curly would always be my favorite Stooge. I vaguely remember reading many years ago that his daughter mentioned about him being a loving father.

The Three Stooges and the Rascals had things in common. They both utilized funny sound effects. They both had funny shorts about being stuck in a spook house. They both had stories related to sports like golf, football etc. They both featured jokes involving pies being thrown and hitting innocent bystanders who then retaliated! I like Jerome Lester Howitz the best, but Samuel is OK in my book. What about Joe Besser?
