There are so many great lines...
But, one of my favorites was, "Hey, you flat foot... call your shots!" Hence my screen name.

First I just want to thank all involved here for having this forum, the Rascals were such a huge and memorable time in my childhood and many, many years later still can't get enough! For me the funniest line was in "Love Business" Jackie at the front door to Chubby.."what are you doin' here?" Chubby.." I was just passin' by and thought I'd drop in" Jackie replies.." Why don't ya keep passin' by till ya get to the river and THEN drop in!"

The other day I watched "Lazy Days" And I thought it was funny when Chubby said "They'll know I'm NOT a baby!" the funny thing was that Chubby was 11-years-old(!)

Yeah, that baby gag was taken from the Our Gang silent film Craddle Robbers, and the gag was used with Joe Cobb, who was about 7-years-old during that film. And like Chubby, he complained about the gang trying to pass him off as a baby.

My favorite line is when the teacher who is boarding at Chubby's house takes great pains to be polite about not eating the soup and Chubby blurts out, "It tastes like mothballs!"
Something about the WAY he says his lines, always kind of put out, makes them twice as funny. I don't remember the exact wording, but my second favorite is when he grouses, "I have to grease Wheezer!"

It was actually Jackie Cooper who says the line "It tastes like mothballs", and it was Spud (Leon Janney) who said "I have to grease Wheezer".

Hi, my first post at this site. Does anyone know in which episode Spud says "I have to grease Wheezer"? Thanks.

^ That would be "Bear Shooters." Good luck finding that short. Criminal, isn't it? I've only seen the little bit they showed on "The Sopranos" once. Although I don't have a favorite line (tooo-daaay), Stymie gets my vote for all-around funniest Rascal, just nudging out Mickey Daniels and baby Spanky.
