No, I don't think any of them look like him, and the names certainly don't match. I appreciate your help. The picture I have sure looks like him though. I just need to get it scanned so you all can tell me who it is. Thanks, Kevin

Freckles in the local version of Our Gang was played by Mickey Myers (spooky if it was Halloween) not by "Holy" Hubert Lindsey. However Hubert was a preacher, a man of god, so I guess that we can take his word as gospel, either that or pure and very stinky bull excrement. *Hubert was one of the original Little Rascals*

The red haired, freckle faced boy who was in late silent era Our Gang movies and a couple of talkies was Harry Spear, not Alfalfa, who didn't have red hair. But again Holy Hubert was far too old to be him, he was already 12 years old when Harry joined the series as a five year old. Hello all, I knew a wonderful red-haired, freckle-faced old man named "Holy" Hubert Lindsey. He was born in 1914 and died in about 2004 I believe. It was said that he was in only 2 talkies and the rest were silent, but that he was the original "Alfalfa" though originally known as "Freckles", and that his favorite episode was about a pie eating contest.

I mentioned in a couple other threads going to a revival house screening of Rascals shorts featuring an elderly gentleman who claimed to have played 'Wheezer' in one of these productions.
My suspicion is that they, or their parents, were conned by one of the gangs of traveling confidence men who traveled through small towns in those days claiming to be doing 'screen tests' for Hal Roach Studios and the like. Maltin writes about them a bit in his book.
