Does anyone know how long Carl Alfalfa Switzer was a Freemason? I noticed he has 2 Masonic symbols on his grave stone.

Carl is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which was itself once the site of a Masonic Lodge 'Southland Lodge 617.' The building still remains and is open to the public. For more details click on the link below. *Freemasons For Dummies*I found this paragraph online... In his work as a hunting guide, he crossed paths with cowboy superstar Roy Rogers, a 33° Mason and member of Hollywood Lodge 355. Roy tried to help Carl's faltering career by giving him parts in several of his shows. He also encouraged Carl to join the Freemasons, which he did.
I can't find any definitive dates but the consensus seems to indicate that he joined the Freemasons sometime in the mid 1950s, possibly after his marriage, so he was probably a member for around five years.

Good god, Alfalfa a Stonecutter. Amazed "The Simpsons" didn't pick up on this at some point.
I still find it hard to believe that the US at some point actually had a national *Anti-Masonic* Party.

There are still some weird Ant-Mason conspiracy theorists out there, but it has pretty much faded with time. But it'll be back. That's one of the more depressing things about this stuff; it never goes away. A claim or story or theory is totally discredited, everyone tries to move on, then someone brings it back again. It's like Whack-A-Mole...

The LaRouchies make the anti-Masonics (and the Know-Nothings) sound relatively tame, even mainstream.
