Apart from Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer's nasty behaviour behind the scenes, are there other stories involving the other actors on the set of Our Gang throughout the years?
Speaking of Alfalfa, I think he definitely lacked discipline but then his brother also had some roles in Our Gang and I don't believe Harold was a nightmare on the set. Maybe Carl knew he couldn't get in trouble or get fired and wanted to see how far he could push them?

I know something from the late silent days, but it's a bit rude to share on here. Jean Darling told me about it 12 years ago. I don't think she wrote about it in her books.

If it's inappropriate for the forum, would you be able to send it to me in a PM please?

I wouldn't mind hearing that story, too. Care to send me a PM?

I got a copy of Blake's book recently. Very colorful in more ways than one. Anyhow, he goes into the goat story, as well as a few others about his OG days. He and Buckwheat were pals, and the sort of mischief makers MGM didn't want to depict the kids as. He felt bad that the studio always made Buckwheat dress like a "scarecrow." There's also an incredibly brief implication of having a thing for Janet Burston. Though I can't say what he specifically said. Another too-dirty-for-here story. Same could be said for much of the book, actually.
