I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of depth particular deconstructions of plot points had. Nice work!

As for who wrote this film, a studio memo indicates that Newmeyer did indeed double as director and writer. Though I'm sure he had help from Roach's usual staff of gag writers. In fact, one of them could have come up with the scenario, as Newmeyer isn't specifically credited beyond "writer."

So, yeah... That didn't help any.
