Is there a place where I can find what has been cut from the King World prints? I have a chance to get a King World print of a film I don't have. I'd like to find out if there's enough cut to pass on the print.
The cutting didn't take place until around 1971, so it depends on what year this print was put together. If it has a generic opening title card with just the title of the film on it then it's probably complete. If the title is surrounded by pictures of the Gang members, it's likely one of the later edited ones.
Cuts offhand...
WHEN THE WIND BLOWS - Everything with Farina
PUPS IS PUPS - Everything with Farina
SCHOOL'S OUT - The closeup of the "Minstel" joke book (completely defeating a punchline to a scene), and a reference to Miss Crabtree "severely punishing" the next person to give her a silly response to her questions
HELPING GRANDMA - Farina's phone conversations, and the bit with the "dressed" chicken
LOVE BUSINESS - Part of the schoolyard scene
BARGAIN DAY - Stymie mentioning his dad is a "crap shootin' fool," as well as his game of craps with the monkey
FLY MY KITE - Parts of Grandma receiving (non-physical) abuse from Dan
SHIVER MY TIMBERS - The first minute or so, and the "dark meat" joke, as well as the reference to Stymie's dad being in jail
DOGS IS DOGS - Some of Wheezer getting abused, some of the Ham and Eggs bit, all of Stymie's introduction with Petey
SPANKY - The entire Uncle Tom's Cabin performance
THE POOCH - Part of the Gang confronting Stymie about their dogs
FREE WHEELING - Stymie's mother, the "colored boy" line
BIRTHDAY BLUES - Presumbably the reference to Stymie's dad being in jail; I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the "black sweat" gag was kept in
FOR PETE'S SAKE! - The closeup of the black doll, making Petey's reason for going back to the toy store u known; most of the bits with Stymie's sister
WASHEE IRONEE - Spanky going to the laundromat, and probably some of the conversation with the Chinese kid
ANNIVERSARY TROUBLE - All of Spanky pretending to be Buckwheat, making the former suddenly appear wearing Buckwheat's clothes for no reason
TEACHER'S BEAU - Spanky and Buckwheat messing with the teacher's food, making the kids' reactions to it unexplainable; a closeup of Buckwheat in the classroom scene
SPRUCIN' UP - Spanky telling Buckwheat that he's lucky he doesn't have to wash his face (implying dirt would never show up on it)
THE LUCKY CORNER - Buckwheat mixing up the sugar with starch, leaving out a huge plot point; bits with Buckwheat and the giant ice cube
LITTLE SINNER - The Baptism, and all of Spanky running out of the woods
OUR GANG FOLLIES OF 1936 - The black kids' faces being hidden when the lights go out
DIVOT DIGGERS - The closing gag with the egg in Buckwheat's mouth
THE PINCH SINGER - Alfalfa's blackface disguise, the Plantation Trio's number, Buckwheat's audition
SPOOKY HOOKY - Don't know exactly what got axed, but evidently a good handful of footage with Buckwheat and Dudley Dickerson
REUNION IN RHYTHM - Some of Buckeheat reciting
THREE SMART BOYS - The white paint bit
OUR GANG FOLLIES OF 1938 - The black kids dressed as porters and maids
